Curriculum Enhancement at Bennett is possible thanks to your donations (and employer matching) to our annual fundraising events: Walkathon and Readathon.

What is Curriculum Enhancement?

Curriculum Enhancement (CE) funds are used for field trips (incl. bus transportation grants to the school), speakers, assemblies, guest authors, workshops, and other learning enrichment. PTSA pays everything so you don't have to worry about writing checks or missing out on a field trip. It's also a way for us to ensure every child at Bennett gets a similar learning and social experience.

Not only do field trips make lasting memories but studies found that, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, youth who take educational trips have better grades (59 percent), higher graduation rates from high school (95%) and college (63%), and greater income (12% higher annually).

In fact, 89% said educational trips had a positive, lasting impact on their education and career because the trips made them more engaged, intellectually curious, and interested in and out of school.

Depending on how successful our fundraisers are, the CE budget is between $25,000 to $45,000. When financial support drops, our annual operating budget decreases and we can't offer the same level of enrichment as the previous year. This means, sometimes kids miss out on some fun opportunities they only get a chance to do when they are in that grade level. Give a little, get a lot! That's why 100% family participation - at any contribution level - during our fundraiser is critical.

The Bennett PTSA is the heart of our school, working to build a community of parents and faculty dedicated to providing an exceptional school experience for our children. Building this community takes a village, and we depend on our families to support our mission through membership, charitable programs, staying informed, and by getting involved. This strong commitment and support from our commUNITY are what makes Bennett a National School of Excellence.
